Tim Cone says ‘Semis Clasico’ is supposed to end with a Game 7

Fresh from the most impressive win in the Manila Clasico semifinals duel so far, all points seem to be in favor of crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra against arch rival Star.

Multi-titled coach Tim Cone, however, is not one to be easily swayed, convinced the Gin Kings still have a tough work cut out of them as they duke it out with the Hotshots one final time on Tuesday night in Game 7 that could go down as a fitting ending to a classic 2017 PBA Philippine Cup Final Four battle at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Ginebra, with its back against the wall anew, displayed its never-say-die spirit to the hilt anew on Sunday night when the Gin Kings carved out a dominant 91-67 victory over the cold-shooting Hotshots, dragging them into a sudden-death showdown that’s been expected by many, including Cone himself.

“What would a Manila Clasico series be without a Game 7? I guess this is the way it’s meant to be. We’re supposed to play a Game 7,” stressed the American-born mentor. – FOX Sports Asia
