Anthony Semerad made crucial three-pointers in the fourth quarter to lift the KaTropa to a 107-103 win in Game 2 of the 2017 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Semerad finished with 14 points, including 4-of-9 from downtown. TNT overcame Joshua Smith’s mediocre 16-point game as locals RR Pogoy added 14 and Jayson Castro and Kelly Williams each scored 12 markers.
“After the game from Smith in Game 1, we said the locals should contribute in Game 2. The one with Tony was glaring because it was all in the fourth, said TNT coach Nash Racela. “That’s exactly the role of Tony to be a defensive player but at the same time we know he’s a floor spacer.”
