Baser Amer had an impressive offensive performance to lift the Meralco Bolts to a 103-100 overtime win over TNT to extend their quarterfinals series in the 2017 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
“We played much better tonight than we did last game. I thought we really gutted it out in the end, especially my import was in foul trouble for the majority of the game,” said Meralco coach Norman Black. “I have to give credit to the locals who stepped up in this game especially Baser Amer who I felt played one of his best games of his career, and he was supported by the other guys out there.”
Amer scored a career-high 32 points on 11-of-21 shooting, to go along with six rebounds and four assists. Cliff Hodge had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kelly Nabong also added 15, while Jared Dillinger and Chris Newsome each scored 12 markers.
TNT got a monster game from Joshua Smith who posted 18 points and 18 boards.
