For the first time this season, the Blackwater Elite finally qualified for the quarterfinals as they defeated GlobalPort Batang Pier, 118-107, Sunday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Blackwater newcomer Allein Maliksi, who was playing his first game after being traded from the Star Hotshots, received an early birthday present as his team got the win and he was named Best Player of the Game.

Maliksi finished with 23 points in the game as he was immediately inserted into their starting lineup. He finished with 22 points in the game but Blackwater had a lot of heroes in the contest as their entire first five scored in double digits and they also got key contributions from the bench.

Henry Walker almost finished with a triple double with a monster stat-line of 19 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks. He only took 13 shots in the game as he allowed the locals to get their own share of looks. Roi Sumang had 21, Mike DiGregorio had 16, and Poy Erram had 11 while Dave Marcelo notched 13 points off the bench for the Elite.
