Henry Walker picked the right time to show his old fiery stuff.
After seemingly sleepwalking for majority of the game, Walker picked the dying seconds to come up with a huge dunk that lifted Blackwater to an 86-84 shocker over Magnolia Ang Pambansang Manok Wednesday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Following a well-designed play drawn up by Elite coach Bong Ramos in their last timeout and helped along by a defensive slip by the Hotshots, Walker found the lane wide open for the go-ahead slam, still 3.4 ticks left.
Although Walker missed the and-one charity, the Hotshots saw their hopes completely dashed when Jio Jalalon’s desperate heave was deflected by John Pinto.
Thus, Blackwater notched its first win after seven previous futile tries, the last four of those under Ramos.
