With their backs against the wall, the Barangay Ginebra Kings were once again lifted by the presence of the “Living Legend” Sonny Jaworski as they stayed alive in the 2017 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals with a dominant 125-101 victory over TNT KaTropa in Game 3, Thursday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Eager to make up for missing four crucial free throws in the dying minutes of Game 2, Justin Brownlee had a huge night for Ginebra with an all-around performance. One of the leading candidates for Best Import of the Conference finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists but Ginebra coach Tim Cone was happier with the kind of defense his import played.
Brownlee added three steals and four blocks to his tally as they went back to their old defensive ways to score the important victory.
RR Garcia led the fight for TNT with 16 points while Mo Tautuaa added 15.
