Australia won by default over Gilas Pilipinas after a bench-clearing incident in the 3rd quarter left the Philippine team with only three available players.

With the Boomers up by a comfortable 31-point margin, 79-48 with a little over 4 minutes left in the 3rd period, a mid-air collision between Roger Pogoy and Chris Goulding left the high-scoring Australian guard sprawled on the floor. Teammate Daniel Kickert then charged towards Pogoy and gave the Gilas wingman a hard elbow to the head.

This triggered a free-for-all with majority of the Gilas players joining the fray.

The game officials took a considerable amount of time to review the incident which resulted in 13 ejections, 4 from the visitors and 9 from the home team.
