Gilas Pilipinas lost their first match of the 2017 William Jones Cup at the hands of Canada 3D Global Sports, 90-77, on Saturday in Taipei, Taiwan.
Kiefer Ravena led the team in scoring with 12 points along with five rebounds and three assists, followed by Ray Parks with 11 points and three steals.
For Canada, four players reached double-figures with Garret Williamson notching 15 points. The trio of Joey Haywood, Deigo Kapelan, and Michale Kyser chipped in with 12 points apiece.
Gilas turned the ball over 22 times, committed 26 fouls, and went 7-for-22 from beyond the arc — a disappointing start for the team.
