After pounding Ginebra on the interior to take Game 1, TNT went outside to bury the Gin Kings in Game 2.
The KaTropa found an unlikely hero in Anthony Semerad to take a commanding 2-0 lead in their best-of-5 Commissioner’s Cup semifinal series against the top-seeded Gin Kings, scoring a gutsy 107-103 victory Tuesday at the MOA Arena.
Controlling almost the entire game, Ginebra once again failed to execute in the clutch as the team lost back-to-back games for the first time this conference and for the first time with import Justin Brownlee.
Semerad and RR Pogoy finished with 14 points apiece while Jayson Castro and Kelly Williams were good for 12 points each.
Brownlee and Tenorio led the Ginebra offense with 22 points each in a losing effort. Game 3 is on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum.
