Chris Newsome and Arinze Onuaku led a steady Meralco game as the Bolts added to the NLEX Road Warriors’ woes with a 106-90 victory in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Friday night.

Newsome poured in 30 points while Onuaku collected 23 rebounds and 15 markers for the Bolts who jumped to a 12-point lead in the first quarter then maintained a safe lead all the way through.

Mike Tolomia, Baser Amer, Anjo Caram and Jared Dillinger also did fine jobs to help the Bolts to a second win in three starts.

Meralco nailed a second win in three starts while NLEX went down to a third straight loss in the game marred by a little commotion after the buzzer as coach Yeng Guiao felt disrespected with Newsome converting a triple in the dying seconds with the game long settled.
