The TNT KaTropa’s hopes for a twice-to-beat advantage are still intact. With a 105-102 win over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, the KaTropa can still earn the incentive, but they’ll have to pray that the outcomes of upcoming games work their way.
Joshua Smith overpowered everyone in the paint, finishing with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Ranidel de Ocampo also came up huge with 21 points, making some big shots that repelled Rain or Shine.
But the biggest shot of the game came from RR Pogoy. With 26.8 seconds left, the rookie knocked down a long jumper that gave TNT a 103-101 lead.
Yap was Rain or Shine’s high-point man, totalling 23 points while shooting 4-for-7 from deep. Chan had and Belga had 13 points each.
TNT, in hopes of a twice-to-beat incentive, will now pray for losses from teams who sit above them in the team standings.
