For the nth time, Yeng Guiao expressed his dismay over the way a game that his team lost was officiated.
The 59-year old former congressman of the first district of Pampanga blasted the referees anew after NLEX lost a close one to his former team Rain or Shine, 98-97, Wednesday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Guiao mentioned three specific missed calls which he felt were obvious and cost them the game. First was the clear goal-tending by Gabe Norwood early in the payoff period which the referees chose to let-go, second was the foul committed by debuting Road Warriors import Arnett Moultrie on Reginald Johnson that led to the game-winning free throws, and last was the no-call by Chris Tiu on Juami Tiongson.
“Those are three calls that I think killed us,” said Guiao.
“It’s another one of those games where the refs robbed you of a victory. We’ll have to check with the commissioner on what they think about these calls,” he added.
The loss was the second straight for NLEX which opened the conference with an embarrassing 20-point loss to Columbian Dyip.
