After reports claiming that Jericho Cruz, along with teammates Beau Belga and Raymond Almazan, wants out of Rain or Shine due to discontent with the style of coach Caloy Garcia, NLEX Road Warriors coach Yeng Guiao admitted that while he is satisfied with the current line-up of his team, he will still consider trading for Cruz as long as an offer is presented.
Cruz was drafted 9th overall by Rain or Shine during the 2014 PBA Rookie Draft and was mentored by Guiao during his first three years in the league before the former Congressman of the 1st district of Pampanga packed up his bags and transferred to NLEX.
While Almazan and Belga have signified their intentions of possibly staying with the team, Cruz has already informed Rain or Shine management of his desire to be traded.
Guiao, however, made it clear that negotiations have yet to commence.
“It will depend really if yung kapalit niya o yung trade mismo ay magbe-benefit yung both sides. As of now kasi, wala pang concrete na pwedeng pag-usapan. All we know is that he indicated his willingness to be traded and specifically traded to us, so nandun pa lang,” said Guiao.
“Maybe next week, baka pwedeng i-explore yun. Kung acceptable naman sa amin yung conditions, syempre depende kung sino ang hingin nila. Baka hingin naman nila si Kiefer, hindi naman pwede yun,” Guiao added.
