Calvin Abueva defended himself from accusations that he cursed Ray Parks’ girlfriend Maika Rivera and made obscene gestures towards her after he fouled out in the waning moments of the game which the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters won, 103-98, to snap Blackwater’s three-game win streak, Friday night at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.
While Abueva admitted to cursing and doing the obscene gesture towards Rivera, he claimed it was merely a retaliatory move since she started the ball rolling by calling him a monkey.
“Foul din naman sa akin yung porket player kami, kami lang ang mumurahin,” said the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 Rookie Draft.
“Ang ginawa sa akin, ang sabi sa akin, ‘Hey, get out of here.
The 31-year old native of Angeles City, Pampanga claimed that he got fed up after Rivera called him a monkey while flashing the dirty finger, which was witnessed by the team and even his wife.
“Merong sinabi na monkey. Nag-sign pa ng f*ck you.”
Abueva then lashed out at Rivera for being arrogant and swell-headed.
Kung nasa labas pinersonal kita, doon ka mag-iiyak,” explained the 7-time PBA All-Star.
