Agent: Chris Lutz interested in making PBA comeback

Former San Miguel wingman Chris Lutz is considering a PBA return.

The 34-year old Fil-Am was in town recently and met with his agent, Marvin Espiritu of Espiritu-Manotoc Basketball Management, to discuss the possibility of making a league comeback after more than more than two years of absence.

Lutz, the Beermen’s 1st round pick, 3rd overall during the 2011 rookie draft, made the most out his three-week stay in the country by vising friends and old teammates, foremost of which is former Smart Gilas batchmate Marcio Lassiter.

As per Espiritu, however, the one-time PBA All-Star is still out of shape.

The 6-foot-3 forward, who spent five seasons and won three titles with the Beermen including the history-making ‘Beeracle’ run during the 2015-15 Philippine Cup against Alaska, last suited up for the team during the Commissioner’s Cup until a slew of injuries sidelined him for the rest of the year.

The Meralco Bolts eventually plucked him out of free agency in 2017 after he was left unprotected.

Unfortunately, Lutz wasn’t able to play even for a single game for his new team due to an assortment of injuries – foot, back and ankle, and eventually left for the US to rehabilitate.
