After a week of absence, the Alaska Aces will be back in action as they face Barangay Ginebra, TNT and Terrafirma in three consecutive days.
The Jeffrey Cariaso-mentored squad will compete against the Gin Kings on Friday, Tropang Giga on Saturday and the Dyip on Sunday.
Alaska missed the previous week due to the league’s health and safety protocols. So far, they only played once in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup restart and absorbed an 84-74 defeat at the hands of the NLEX Road Warriors last September 2.
“We are going to play three games in a row starting Friday so that’s going to be a big challenge.” said Cariaso in an interview with Spin.ph
Since their return to the court, the 14-time PBA Champions have not yet trained 5-on-5 as they only have eight players joining the practice.
The former Gin Kings head coach said they hope to have some of their players back by Friday.
“It’s going to be an extra challenge. But it’s the situation. Ganun talaga. We are hoping to be complete or to have some of our guys return on Friday,” said Cariaso.
“But like I said, there’s a game to be played and I’m confident with the guys that they are going to give their best. The thought is taking a game at a time. Focus lang kami on Friday, we regroup, get our rest, and then hopefully, we get some momentum, build some confidence, and have a good weekend,” he added.
The 2013 PBA Commissioner’s Cup champions currently occupy 11th spot in the Philippine Cup rankings with 2 victories and 4 defeats.
