Gilas Pilipinas Men’s team naturalized player Andray Blatche was quick to put the blame on himself after the national team debuted in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup with an embarrassing 46-point defeat, 108-62, at the hands of Italy, Saturday night at the Foshan International Sports & Cultural Arena in China.
The 33-year old former NBA player expressed his frustrations on his erratic performance in a game witnessed by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte who was on hand to witness the Philippine team’s opening salvo in the tournament.
“I take 100% responsibility in that game no energy or puso that’s on me no excuses i owe better to all of you,” wrote Blatche on his Twitter account shortly after the devastating loss which made it almost impossible for the squad to advance to the next round.
