San Miguel team captain Arwind Santos was one of those who tried to pacify Terrence Romeo after the Gilas guard lost his cool due to a hard foul by Magnolia’s Mark Barroca.
Romeo threw the ball hard at the unsuspecting referee which resulted in the first technical foul. He continued to plead his case and even the intervention of teammates and coaches failed to calm him down. He received a second technical and was ordered out of the playing court.
Santos, aside from another SMB old-timer in Alex Cabagnot, tried to talk sense into the fuming Romeo but their words fell into deaf ears.
While everything is now water under the bridge, Santos is hoping that Romeo keeps his emotions in check to prevent a repeat of the ugly incident.
