Blackwater rediscovered its winning ways as it turned back skidding NorthPort, 107-98, Saturday in the PBA Governors Cup.
The Elite relied on a balance scoring in beating a Batang Pier side that was without sick head coach Pido Jarencio.
Rookie Ray Parks finished with a team-high 21 points, new acquisition Carl Bryan Cruz with 16, while import Marqus Blakely had another good all-around game of 13 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and eight blocked shots for Blackwater, which finally made the win column of the season-ending tournament at 1-2.
“This is the old Blackwater na naka-spread yung scoring namin, not only one guy scoring in double digits,” coach Aris Dimaunahan proudly said after the Petron Saturday Special game at the Ynares Center.
“Hopefully, we could again build on it and get another win on our next game.”
Mike Digregorio and Roi Sumang were the other Elite in double figures with 14 points each.
