San Miguel showed no mercy and no pity against a badly depleted Alaska Milk side, fashioning out a 109-83 rout in the PBA Governors Cup at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex here Sunday.
Ranged against an Alaska team minus five players including import Justin Watts, the Beermen built momentum in the second period and just kept their feet on the pedal in the final half on the way to a second straight win in the season-ending tourney.
San Miguel played without letup, with coach Leo Austria utilizing 12 players versus the Alaska side sans Watts, Jeron Teng, Noy Baclao, Kevin Racal and Maverick Ahanmisi.
Dez Wells enjoyed some breather in the process, flexing just enough muscles to produce 25 points and seven rebounds against nine turnovers.
With big salvos in the middle quarters, the Beermen opened a 35-point spread before closing the third at 81-59.
Then the SMB reserves did the mop-up job as they primed up for a Dubai trip where they play the NLEX Road Warriors Friday.
