Blackwater takes in Kelly Nabong, signs Andre Paras to two-year, ₱3M deal

Blackwater locked in actor and model Andre Paras to a two-year deal worth P3 million.

The 25-year old son of PBA legend Benjie Paras, who was picked by the Bossing with the 27th overall in the league’s Season 46 draft, signed the offer sheet more than one week after the draft with the contract soon to follow.

“The offer sheet has been signed although we have yet to meet face-to-face because of the lockdown. The contract will be finalized in the first week of April,” revealed Bossing owner Dioceldo Sy during an interview with The Star.

“He (Paras) said everything is now secondary to his PBA career,” he added.

Aside from Paras, Blackwater also came to terms with second-round picks Joshua Torralba and Rey Mark Acuno.

Torralba’s deal is for two years worth P120,000 a month on the first and P150,000 on the second. Acuno, meanwhile, was signed for one year at P100,000 per month.

Also signing a deal with Blackwater is free agent Kelly Nabong.

The 32-year old Fil-Am, who was just released by NorthPort despite submitting career-best numbers of 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 11 games during the 2020 Philippine Cup, was given a 6-month contract which starts on April.

“Kelly started out with Blackwater in the D-League. He said through his manager (Danny Espiritu) that he wants to prove himself. This is Nabong’s second coming,” said Sy.
