Brgy. Ginebra turns to Brownlee, Thompson down the stretch to overpower Columbian

BARANGAY Ginebra shook of its championship hangover just in time to take care of business against Columbian Dyip, 96-84, and win its debut game in the PBA Governors Cup Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Import Justine Brownlee and Scottie Thompson combined for 21 of the Kings’ 35 points in the payoff period and triggered the run that snuff the life of the Dyip.

Brownlee scored 14 of his game-high 34 points during that crucial stretch, including a big three that made it a 75-68 lead and prompted Columbian coach Johnedel Cardel to sue for timeout.
