Chris Banchero a no-show for Alaska as PBA evaluates trade to Magnolia

Chris Banchero was a no-show for Alaska during the Aces’ game against the NorthPort Batang Pier, Sunday in the 2019 Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Banchero was earlier dealt to the Magnolia Hotshots for the pair of Robbie Herndon and Rodney Brondial with trade papers already at the PBA Commissioner’s Office for approval.

Commissioner Willie Marcial, however, said that the 30-year old Fil-Italian can still suit up for the Aces since the deal is still being scrutinized by the league’s trade committee.

Alaska is currently fighting for its dear life in the season-ending conference with only 2 wins to show in 8 starts.

Magnolia, on the other hand, is mired in the middle of pack with a 4-4 record and, just like Alaska, is in dire need of wins in order to gain safe passage into the next round wherein the top 4 finishers will enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage.

The Hotshots’ remaining games in the elimination round will be against Phoenix (November 6), NLEX (November 10), and TNT (November 16).
