San Miguel guard Chris Ross became the latest addition to the list of players involved in an altercation with TNT’s prolific and oftentimes mercurial reinforcement Terrence Jones.
Before Ross, the 27-year old former NBA player figured in scuffles with Calvin Abueva, Carl Bryan Cruz, LA Tenorio and Greg Slaughter, among others with Abueva still serving an indefinite suspension for his clothesline hit on the KaTropa import.
Ross accused Jones of hitting him intentionally on the nose and then stepping on his leg while he was down on the floor. The incident happened during the 1:03 mark of the 3rd quarter of Game 1 of the best-of-seven championship series which was handily won by the KaTropa.
The 10-year PBA veteran said that he wasn’t the first victim.
“I felt like he purposely went after my nose because I know you see Mo Tautuaa wears a mask now, the same thing happened to him. I’m not the first one. He has done it to multiple people,” claimed Ross.
With the incident behind him, Ross sent a strong message for Jones and the rest of the KaTropa on what to expect from the Beermen come Game 2 which is scheduled on Wednesday, August 7, 7:00pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“There are certain things that are not basketball plays. If we’re going to play basketball, we play basketball. If you want to play dirty, we play dirty too.”
