From a triumphant visit in Lucena Saturday, Rain or Shine put on display a wondrous outside shooting in its next outing over at the Cuneta Astrodome Wednesday night.
James Yap, Beau Belga and Chris Tiu rained down at least four triples each on NorthPort as the Elasto Painters stormed to a second straight win with a 120-98 rout of the Batang Pier in the PBA Governors Cup.
Yap drained six treys, Belga knocked in five on a perfect clip while Tiu added four with three other ROS players making a triple each in a hot shooting that keyed a second straight win for the E-Painters after a 104-97 victory over the Barangay Ginebra Kings in Lucena last Saturday.
Thus, the E-Painters improved to 2-4 while the Batang Pier dropped down to 2-7.
“Maganda shooting (ko) at kailangang-kailangan naman dahil kung natalo, tagilid kami,” said Yap, going 6-of-7 from the arc and making a total of 20 points.
“I’d been struggling. Nakuha sa tyaga,” said Tiu, converting 4-of-7 treys and finishing with a career-high 23 markers.
Belga was hotter with a perfect 5-of-5 clip from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the two-point zone while also coming through with 12 rebounds and three assists against three turnovers.
