And there’s a series.

San Miguel Beer coach Leo Austria said that’s what they have done as they picked up the pieces of their shattering Game One defeat and inflicted Barangay Ginebra as much beating in their succeeding match.

“We have a series,” Austria stressed shortly after tying the series after two games of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup best-of-seven title playoff.

“A blowout win for them in Game One and a blowout win for us in Game Two. I think you’ll really never know what will happen in the series,” said Austria ahead of Game Three set at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

In a big turnaround from their ego-deflating 99-127 loss in the series opener, the Beermen brought in their A1 game and blasted the Kings, 134-109, Sunday in a match that turned a bit hostile and chippy towards the end.

Both sides don’t expect the intensity of their battle to subside, with Ginebra coach Tim Cone even saying the series “is gonna be chippier.”
