Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters big man Dave Marcelo was slapped with a P20,000 fine for his unnecessary contact on SMB counterpart Christian Standhardinher which was deemed as a Flagrant Foul Penalty 2 (FFP2) by the game officials during Game 3 of the best-of-seven series between the two teams.
The 30-year old Phoenix bruiser was tossed out in the second period of the said contest after hacking a driving Standhardinger.
Marcelo appeared before PBA officials on Monday at the league office in Libis, Quezon City.
He, however, was spared of suspension making him available for Game 4 of the series which is set on Tuesday, April 23 at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
This marks the second time in the Phoenix vs San Miguel series that a player received an FFP2. Standhardinger was the first recipient after his altercation with Calvin Abueva in Game 2.
Standhardinger was fined P20,000 for the incident while Abueva was penalized P15,000 for flashing the dirty finger several times during the game.
