The Filbasket inaugural tournament which will be held at Splendido in Laurel, Batangas under a full bubble setup has been moved to September 25.
The league was supposed to kick off on September 18 but plans were modified as they encountered some problems with the LGU of the province.
In an interview with Manila Times, league founder Jai Reyes bared that the reason for the adjustment was due to issues with the local government.
“We have to push it back to September 25 because of LGU (local government unit)-related issues” said Reyes.
MJAS Zenith is the latest team to join the league on its maiden season.
MPBL teams such as the Davao Occidental Tigers, San Juan Knights and Manila Stars will compete alongside former PBA ballclub Sta. Lucia Realtors.
Clearport International Canada is the first team outside the Philippines to participate in the 2009 PCCL Finals MVP’s league.
Other teams taking part are 7A Primus, FSD Makati Army and Muntinlupa Defenders.
Reyes said that final 3 teams will be unveiled in the following days.
