BARANGAY Ginebra opens its campaign for a third straight PBA Governors Cup title on Friday as the defending champion makes its conference debut against Columbian Dyip.

The Kings take the floor of the Smart Araneta Coliseum at 7 p.m. and coming fresh from their successful conquest of the mid-season Commissioner’s Cup which they won at the expense of San Miguel Beer.

The Kings only had the benefit of a two week’s rest following their title run against the Beermen before returning back to practice last week in preparation for their title defense.

For Ginebra, the game against Columbian is just a warm-up to what would be a gruelling three-game stretch in less than a week.

After Friday, the Kings return to action two days later as they tangle with unbeaten Alaska Aces, and then take on NorthPort Batang Pier Wednesday next week before the league takes a break to give way to the second round window of the FIBA World Cup qualifier.
