Magnolia Ang Pambansang Manok coach Chito Victolero reined in his main players to give them a prolonged rest, limiting their playing minutes.

That did not stop the Hotshots from fashioning a 113-95 romp over hapless Columbian Wednesday that gave the former a share of the lead in the PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Romeo Travis led the onslaught with 32 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists while Mark Barroca, Paul Lee and Ian Sangalang did their part in helping Magnolia realize a third straight win after playing its fourth game in 10 days.

Before going on a well-deserved week-long respite, the Hotshots jacked their record to 5-1 for a tie with idle Barangay Ginebra and hope to be refreshed and even more fully charged for another tough stretch featuring games against Blackwater (Oct. 10), Alaska (Oct. 14) and Meralco (Oct. 19).
