It’s been a long, long season, and Magnolia Pambansang Manok wants it done and over with, looking forward to a championship being savored and cherished these coming holidays.
A few days before Christmas, the Hotshots seek to put the wraps on the best Christmas present they could give themselves as they play the embattled Alaska Milkmen in Game Six of the PBA Governors Cup best-of-seven title playoff Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
“Ito ang pinaka-magandang regalong pwede namin ibigay sa sarili namin. The opportunity is there, so susubukin namin kunin,” said Magnolia coach Chito Victolero.
Tip-off is at 7 p.m. with the Aces, on the other hand, aching to come out to extend the series to a winner-take-all match.
A win by the Hotshots will end their four-year title drought and enable the Purefoods/San Mig Food franchise to tie Alaska Milk as the most winningest PBA teams behind San Miguel Beer.
Magnolia is currently one title behind Alaska with its haul of 13 championships – the last capping a grand slam run under coach Tim Cone in 2014.
