Jared Dillinger happy to finally see action for Brgy. Ginebra just in time for the playoffs

After a very long wait, Jared Dillinger finally made his much-anticipated debut for Brgy. Ginebra.

The moment happened during the Gin Kings’ 113-90 dismantling of Columbian Dyip, Friday in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The 35-year old Dillinger, who was plucked from the unrestricted free agent list of Meralco during the mid-season, came in for Justin Brownlee in the 5:08 mark of the final frame and hauled down 2 rebounds, missed an undergoal stab and committed a turnover in 3 minutes of action.

“I’ve been working my butt off to get out there on the court again. I’m just kind of speechless right now. I’m just happy I can help the team somewhere, just getting in a little bit of a rhythm just before the playoffs start,” said Dillinger who was sidelined for 5 months due to a quad injury.

“Coach, management, they’ve been extremely patient with me. They know that I’ve been working my butt off trying to get back on the floor. And for that I couldn’t be more grateful. The way they’ve been handling this process,” he added.

The process that he went through wasn’t an easy one not just for him but for the entire team as well.

“I know it’s hard for everyone, lots of ups and downs. But I’m just happy again that I can start playing a little bit and try to get as much rhythm that I can before the playoffs,” said the 11-year PBA veteran.

“This whole process, it’s been tough, so I’ve been trying to do everything I can to figure out how I can get to the floor. I tried to lean up and lose weight so I can take the load off my legs a little bit, altered my diet a little bit. Tweaking, trial and error and see what’ working for me and what’s not working,” added Dillinger.
