Jones charged with 3 flopping violations in the Finals, Standahardinger and Pogoy with 2 each

Recently crowned Best Import of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Terrence Jones has been assessed with the most number of flopping violations in the ongoing championship series between TNT and San Miguel with three.

Fil-German Christian Standhardinger and Gilas sniper Roger Pogoy have been charged with two each after reviews were done by the league’s technical committee for the first four games of the Finals.

SMB veteran guard Chris Ross, who has gotten the ire of fans for allegedly flopping a lot, has been charged with only one.

As per Commissioner Willie Marcial, the league will intensify its campaign against flopping starting this conference. A fine of P3,000 will be imposed for each violation with the penalty increasing for repeat offenders.

Marcial, however, admitted that only obvious flops will be penalized as it is very hard to determine which ones can be considered as such.

“Ang hirap din sa part ng mga referees. Minsan nga kahit sa review mismo mahirap din ma-determine. May mga border line cases din kasi,” he said.

Among the players caught flopping in the elimination round were Sean Anthony with three, Justin Chua, John Pinto, Carl Bryan Cruz, Ross and Pogoy with two each.
