Jones wins Best Import, Castro named Best Player of the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup

TNT KaTropa swept the top two individual awards in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup courtesy of Jayson Castro and Terrence Jones.

Castro was named as Best Player of the mid-season conference while Jones bagged the award for Best Import over Brgy. Ginebra’s Justin Brownlee and SMB reinforcement Chris McCullough.

The 33-year old Castro, who last won the award in the 2016 Governors’ Cup, got a total of 1,077 points as he topped the voting from the media (458) and Commissioner’s Office (150), settled for 2nd in the player’s (76) and finished 3rd in statistical points (393).

8-time BPC awardee June Mar Fajardo, who topped the players votes with 82, came in 2nd with 762 while rookie Bobby Ray Parks Jr., who finished number 1 in statistical points with 434, rounded up the top 3 with 576.

Jones topped the voting from media (477), players (79) and Commissioner’s Office to finish with a total of 1,254 while Brownlee came in as a distant 2nd with 882. McCullough landed in 3rd with 729.
