Justin Brownlee urged his Barangay Ginebra San Miguel teammates to play their best game yet Wednesday night as the Kings seek to clinch the PBA Commissioner’s Cup crown at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Brownlee said the capability of defending champion San Miguel to bounce back from disappointing setbacks like Sunday’s 87-83 loss at the Smart Araneta Coliseum should pose a big concern for the Kings, who are aiming for their 11th title in team history.
“I think we have to play the game of our lives, especially having to go up against the defending champions who are very tough,” Brownlee said. “But we’ve expect that, just like what we’ve expect the whole series. And hopefully on Wednesday, we can close it out.”
The Best Import of the Conference is aiming for his third title since making his debut in Ginebra’s dramatic title win in the 2016 Governors’ Cup.
This Finals is perhaps Brownlee’s best to date. He averaged 35.0 points on 78 percent shooting in the first four games.
