Arwind Santos has officially joined NorthPort.
Batang Pier star guard Robert Bolick posted a ‘selfie’ with the newly acquired Santos, Monday on his Instagram account.
The 40-year old former FEU King Tamaraw was acquired by the Mikee Romeo-owned franchise exactly a week ago in a one-for-one swap with San Miguel for forward Vic Manuel.
Manuel, on the other hand, was acquired just a couple of days before the Santos deal from the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters along with Michael Calisaan for Sean Anthony, Sean Maganti and a 2022 second round pick.
Santos will be joining a new team for the first time in 12 years, or since moving over to the league’s winningest franchise from Burger King/Air21 in 2009. He will now be part of a Batang Pier squad reinforced by former SMC players, namely Greg Slaughter, Kevin Ferrer, Jerrick Balanza, Paolo Taha and Arthur dela Cruz.
NorthPort is looking to bounce back from a disappointing finish in the recently concluded All-Filipino conference wherein they were swept by the Beermen in the quarterfinal round, 2-0.
The Batang Pier will be bannered by Cameron Forte, a naturalized player of the Jordan national team who’s also had stints in the ASEAN Basketball League, in the upcoming 2021 Governors’ Cup which is tentatively set to start on November 28.
