Romeo Travis reacted to a netizen who called him a ‘trash import’ after the Magnolia reinforcement decided against scoring despite being wide open during the closing seconds of their game against Columbian, Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The usually mild-mannered Travis, a childhood friend of NBA superstar LeBron James, responded to a tweet of a disappointed individual who was wondering why he didn’t bother to take an attempt despite being unguarded.
Because I respect basketball. If you are man enough to call me trash. You can come to Shangrila Edsa and we can have a conversation face to face https://t.co/fURzYwOkIr

“Fixed game by bookmakers. Nobody can explain me why that trash import didn’t score on the last play while wide open under the basket 😂😂😂 #matchfixing #pba #asia #mafia,” wrote the netizen.
“Because I respect basketball. If you are man enough to call me trash. You can come to Shangrila Edsa and we can have a conversation face to face,” was Romeo’s curt reply.
A good number of the Twitter users came to the defense of Travis citing an unwritten rule in sports which is all about showing respect towards the losing side.
Travis finished with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks as the Hotshots snapped out of a three-game slide with the recent victory over the Dyip and got back on track in its quest to defend the Governor’s Cup crown.
