Magnolia Pambansang Manok made a big turnaround from a shattering loss to Phoenix Fuel the last time out, clobbering Rain or Shine, 92-76, Wednesday night for a third win in four starts in the PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Flat in its 82-95 loss to the Fuel Masters, the Hotshots were back in their elements against the Elasto Painters, fashioning out a dominant wire-to-wire win.
“Kinalawang kami from a 22-day break the last time. Walang aggressiveness, walang effort, nawala ang rhythm. Nagusap-usap kami pagkatapos, at mukhang bumalik na uli ang rhythm,” said Magnolia coach Chito Victolero.
“Malaki sa amin ito because we don’t want back-to-back losses, and we want to win badly to have some momentum going to our game against San Miguel Beer Sunday,” Victolero also said.
Paul Lee embodied the effort shown by the Hotshots in their turnaround, with the sleek guard rebounding from an eight-point game to turn in 22 this time.
