No less than TNT Tropang Giga owner Manny V. Pangilinan showed his dismay over how the officiating went through in Game 3 of the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup Finals between TNT and the Magnolia Hotshots last Sunday.
MVP took to social media to express his thoughts on the game that saw the Tropang Giga fell short against the Hotshots, 106-98, despite a career night for sensational rookie Mikey Williams.
In his official Twitter account, Pangilinan stated that he “saw the worst officiating by far tonight.” This statement by MVP garnered mix reactions from the netizens as some identified a particular play in the game that validated what the TNT big boss observed.
It was the foul called on the TNT guard Brian Heruela as he challenged a shot attempt by Magnolia star guard Paul Lee early in the second quarter that raised a controversial argument among the fans since video replays revealed that Heruela didn’t even touch Lee.
Game 3 also saw TNT skipper Troy Rosario dislocate his left pinkie finger that led to the 29-year-old cager being brought to the hospital for further evaluation.
The 29-year old national team mainstay landed awkwardly after Hotshots’ big man Jackson Corpuz was called for a flagrant foul penalty 1 for the incident and was eventually ejected after receiving a technical foul earlier in the game.
However, TNT still leads the best-of-seven series at 2-1 and has a chance to take a commanding 3-1 advantage when the two teams face off in Game Four on Wednesday.
