The NLEX Road Warriors secured their future in the Philippine Basketball Association by locking up youngsters Kiefer Ravena and Kevin Alas to fresh 3-year contracts.
The duo signed their new deals at the NLEX office in Balintawak in the presence of MPTC (Metro Pacific Tollways Corp) president and CEO Rod Franco, NLEX president and general manager Luigi Bautista, MPTC CFO and alternate governor Chris Lizo, MPT South president Bobby Bontia, NLEX assistant vice president Ronald Dulatre, and Road Warriors head coach and basketball operations manager Yeng Guiao.
Alas’ contract expired on August 31 while Ravena’s is due to lapse on September 30. The two signed separate three-year maximum deals worth P15.12 million each.
“We’re very happy with the development. There were no sticky issues we had to discuss. The negotiations went on very smoothly. Wala naman naging problema,” stressed Guiao.
“They’re happy and we’re happy. Kaya naging madali yung renewal,” he added.
The 26-year old Ravena, easily the squad’s most important player, took to Instragram to express his gratitude towards NLEX management.
“Thank you NLEX family for giving me another chance to represent this wonderful organization,” wrote the 2nd overall pick of the 2017 Rookie Draft.
“Rest assured we will do our best to represent the team with the best of our abilities. Thank you Boss RFE, Boss RLI, Boss CCL, Boss Luigi Bautista, Boss Bobby Bontia, and Boss Ronald Dulatre and Of course Coach Yeng. S/o to my agent Marvin Espiritu for making this happen. God is good,” he added.
