PBA approves three-team deal centered on Jericho Cruz

The PBA has given its stamp of approval on a deal that would send TNT guard Jericho Cruz to the NLEX Road Warriors.

Cruz, who has been frozen on the KaTropa’s Reserve/Injured list for quite sometime now, finally gets his wish to be reunited with former coach and wedding godfather Yeng Guiao.

Then serving as coach for Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, Guiao chose the 6-foot-1 product of Adamson University as the team’s first round pick and 9th overall of the 2014 PBA Rookie Draft.

The two were part of the team that won the 2016 Commissioner’s Cup title.

Guiao left the Elasto Painters in 2016 while Cruz was traded to TNT in February of 2018.

The first part of the deal involved NLEX and NorthPort.

NorthPort receives Marion Magat from NLEX in exchange for the Batang Pier’s 2020 2nd round pick (originally from SMB).

Second part, NorthPort and TNT.

TNT receives Marion Magat plus NorthPort’s 2021 and 2022 2nd round picks in exchange for Jericho Cruz and Michael Miranda.

Last part, NLEX and NorthPort again.

NLEX receives Jericho Cruz from NorthPort in exchange for the Road Warrior’s 2019 2nd round pick (originally from Phoenix) and 2020 2nd round pick (originally from Columbian).

Summary:

NLEX receives: Jericho Cruz, NorthPort’s 2020 2nd round pick (originally from SMB)
NLEX loses: Marion Magat, 2019 2nd round pick (originally from Phoenix), 2020 2nd round pick (originally from Columbian)

TNT receives: Marion Magat, NorthPort’s 2021 and 2022 2nd round picks
TNT loses: Jericho Cruz, Michael Miranda

NorthPort receives: Michael Miranda, NLEX’ 2019 2nd round pick (originally from Phoenix) and 2020 2nd round pick (originally from Columbian)
NorthPort loses: 2020 2nd round pick (originally from SMB), 2021 and 2022 2nd round picks
