The Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters have decided to penalize controversial forward Calvin Abueva for his verbal altercation with the girlfriend of Blackwater rookie Ray Parks during the closing seconds of their game, Friday night at the MOA Arena.
Abueva was slapped with a P20,000 fine for cursing and making obscene gestures at Maika Rivera in full view of the fans at the venue.

While we stand and support Calvin Abueva, he could’ve exercised more prudence and patience in dealing with it, moreso a female was involved, read part of the statement.
For its part, the PBA will summon all the parties involved in the incident. Abueva, Parks and Rivera are set to appear before Commissioner Willie Marcial to personally give their sides of the story.
“Papapuntahin ko next week para klaro side nila,” said Marcial.
The league’s 10th commissioner, however, made it clear that even though Rivera is in a relationship with Parks, she is still considered a fan and therefore a guest.
“Nag-sorry ako kasi fan eh. Kahit sino man yun, fan pa rin natin yun.”
Marcial has tapped the league’s legal counsel Melvin Mendoza to oversee the investigation.
