Following the lead of his former Alab Pilipinas teammates, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser is taking his act to the PBA via the league’s inaugural 3×3 tournament.
The 26-year old brother of Terrafirma forward Matt Ganuelas-Rosser sealed a deal with Phoenix Super LPG in a move which was confirmed by team manager Paolo Bugia.
“We have agreed in principle. He just arrived and is undergoing quarantine procedures. So far he is our first signing,” wrote Bugia in a text message to Manila Bulletin.
Rosser, along with Jason Brickman and Jeremiah Gray, were among the seven Fil-foreigners who were barred from taking part in the PBA Season 46 Draft due to failure to submit the required documents, namely the Certificate of Recognition from the Bureau of Immigration and the Affirmation from the Department of Justice.
Brickman earlier signed with Meralco while Gray agreed to play for TNT.
The 6-foot-7 Rosser last saw action for Alab in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) during the 2019 season and averaged 4.9 points on 42.4 percent shooting and 2.5 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per contest. He played college ball for the UC Riverside Highlanders, a US NCAA Division 1 team now coached by Fil-Am Mike Magpayo.
The 3×3 tournament, which is set to take place at the same time as the regular 5×5, will hold games on Fridays and Saturdays, from 9am to 2pm. There will be 16 teams and three conferences per season.
