Former TNT import Richard Howell is set to replace current Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters reinforcement Rob Dozier after the latter sustained an injury during the team’s debut game against Blackwater last Friday, May 31.
Dozier is said to be suffering from plantar fasciitis, reason why the former Best Import awardee was hardly a factor in the team’s blowout loss to TNT, Sunday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Team governor Atty. Raymond Zorilla confirmed the injury during the post-game interview.
Howell, also former Best Import, first suited up for TNT during the 2014 Commissioner’s Cup and led his team to the Finals against San Mig Coffee. The KaTropa, however, lost in the best-of-five series, 1-3.
The 28-year old American returned the following year but was replaced by Ivan Johnson.
The volatile Johnson, who once played for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA, led TNT to the promised land this time around with 4-3 conquest of Rain or Shine in the Finals.
