Troubled Phoenix Pulse forward Calvin Abueva is set to submit a letter of apology to the PBA today, Monday, June 17 as per Fuel Masters head coach Louie Alas.
Abueva is regretful of his actions during his team’s first two games in the ongoing 2019 Commissioner’s Cup that eventually led to the indefinite suspension slapped on him by Commissioner Willie Marcial.
“I guess sumulat naman na siya sa PBA. Remorseful naman yung tao, alam naman niya na mali siya,” said Alas who is also coming off a two-game suspension for his role in the incident involving Abueva and the Semerad twins of TNT.
The 31-year old native of Angeles City, Pampanga initially got into verbal tussle with a female fan who turned out to be the girlfriend of Blackwater rookie Ray Parks.
The 2012 Rookie of the Year then clotheslined TNT import Terrence Jones during their heated match-up just two days after the Elite game.
Alas bared that Abueva admitted that he was wrong in retaliating to the low-blow of Jones during an earlier play.
“Sabi ko nga, magpapako sa Krus. Nagsisisi. Kaso tapos na Mahal na araw. But kidding aside, sabi niya, dapat hindi ko ginantihan kasi nakikita rin natin ngayon, si LA binanatan din ni Jones eh. So ano rin talaga, mayroon din ugali,” said Alas, referring to the latest incident involving Jones and Brgy. Ginebra guard LA Tenorio.
