San Miguel guard Chris Ross was on the receiving end of another wayward hit from TNT import Terrence Jones in Game 2 of the best-of-seven Finals series in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup and just like in Game 1, the contact resulted in a busted lip.
“You can pull my lip off if we win three more games. I’ll go buy a new one,” said Ross after the Beermen leveled the series at 1 game apiece following the double overtime thriller.
The 34-year old Fil-Am finished with 25 points on 7-of-11 shooting from 3-point country in the gutsy win which could’ve gone the other way had Brian Heruela and Troy Rosario converted their free throws.
Jones picked up his second technical of the match after he hit Ross on the face with his forearm in the closing seconds of the first overtime and was subsequently ejected from the game.
“He hit me. I’ve got two busted lips from the same person,” claimed the Best Player of the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup.
“I mean he’s a great player. He got playing some mind games, and I play mind games out there. If he’s not mentally strong enough for it, then that’s his fault,” added Ross.
