Titleholder San Miguel Beer has claimed two big wins after its shock loss to Columbian Dyip.
With a wounded pride, the Beermen humbled the Barangay Ginebra Kings, 99-91, Sunday and stepped up even more in a 105-93 thrashing of the Meralco Bolts Friday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
They try to make it three in a row versus the TNT KaTropa Texters Sunday over at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Marcio Lassiter fired four treys right in the opening quarter and finished with a 25-point job while June Mar Fajardo collected 20 markers and 11 boards as the Beermen scored back-to-back wins even on the continued absence of injury-hit stars Terrence Romeo and Alex Cabagnot.
“Hopefully, we can sustain the effort and intensity Sunday against TNT which we expect to be a game with a lot of running,” Austria also said.
Austria made special mention of Lassiter and Fajardo who were all business though they are now working double time again, having to attend the Gilas practices.
