Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup organizers have expelled the Siquijor Mystics from the league in the aftermath of the team’s ‘farcical game’ against the ARQ Builders-Lapu Lapu City Heroes, Wednesday afternoon at the Civic Center in Alcantara, Cebu.

League COO Rocky Chan announced the sanctions through the league’s Facebook page on Thursday.

While the Heroes were spared from expulsion, the entire coaching staff along with several players were slapped with fines and/or suspensions.

Head coach Francis Auquico was fined P30,000 and suspended for the remainder of the first round while his deputies, namely Jon Carlo Nuyles, Jerry Abuyador, Alex Cainglet, Roger Justin Potot, and Hamilton Tundag were fined P20,000 each.

Players Jojo Tangkay, Reed Juntilla, Monbert Arong, Dawn Ochea, and Ferdinand Lusdoc were fined P15,000 each and suspended for the rest of the first round.

Rendell Senining, a lefty who used his right hand to shoot the 2nd of two freebies, was fined P15,000 and suspended for the rest of the tournament.

Chan bared that all games of the Mystics will be forfeited.

“We hold ourselves and each of our players to a high standard,” said Chan. “Thus, we will not tolerate these actions.”

“We would like to apologize to all our fans, sponsors, and the basketball community for this unfortunate incident,” he added.
