Terrence Jones delivered another monster performance as TnT Katropa destroyed Meralco, 104-91, to grab the solo lead in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The former NBA player exploded for a new PBA career-high of 49 points, including 18 straight in a sizzling 20-2 blast in the fourth quarter that allowed the Katropa to run away with their sixth win in seven outings.
Jones hit 7-of-11 from three-point range and grabbed 18 rebounds in a remarkable performance during the Petron Blaze Saturday Special.
The numbers of the 28-year-old Jones were more than enough to make up for the absence of main man Jayson Castro, who got married early in the day, and Anthony Semerad (sick).
“Tremendous game again for Terrence. Hopefully every game maka-40 up siya and it will be easier for us,” said coach Bong Ravena.
Jones did get more than enough support from the Katropa as Ryan Reyes finished with 19 points, and Don Trollano and Troy Rosario with 16 and 11, respectively.
