Rain or Shine regained its touch from afar, with Rey Nambatac best demonstrating their fine shooting Friday night as the Elasto Painters stopped the Magnolia Hotshots, 91-81, to send their PBA Philippine Cup Final Four face-off to a deciding Game Seven.
Scoreless in the middle quarters in the game at the Ynares Sports Center, Nambatac exploded for four three-pointers and a total of 13 markers in the payoff period, leading the way as the E-Painters cut loose from a 62-all count at the start of the final frame.
There were also veterans James Yap and Beau Belga playing well in the clutch as the E-Painters halted the Hotshots’ three-game charge to force a rubber match in the race-to-four-games series.
The two teams decide which of them play San Miguel Beer in the best-of-seven finale in a do-or-die setto Sunday.
“It’s do-or-die for us, at pinag-usapan naming eto yung point na ayaw naming masayang yung pinaghirapan namin. Sabi namin huag namin pwersahin dahil kayang-kaya naman namin ang Magnolia,” said Nambatac.
